do you think 2010 is a little late to issue a recall on products manufactured in 2008? how many of our children have ate these cans of meatballs? i dont know about you, but i buy these 3 products monthly in cases from our local BJs because my children love them, there favorite part is the meatballs.

more Capri Sun cases..

are these people just after a piece of the cash they think they smell by a lawsuit?
is capri sun really at fault?
capri sun cant possibly monitor how each individual store opens and stocks shelves,
i think judging by the fact that each case the item looks different, they where bought at different stores, and are from different flavor pouches, suggests that its not a factory problem, and it is just plain error but sloppy box cutters.

here are a few more stories that have come out since the last, if your interested in reading...

Expired Baby Food

i have thrown away countless expired baby food jars, cereals, formula and more, but...

accourding to officals, baby food is fine to use after the expiration date.

meaning the expiration date just means that if used after that date, the food may not carry as many nutrients or vitamins, as the label advertizes, and that the food would not be harmful if not used.

would you feed your infant expired baby food? would you have limits, such as you would use expired formula but not expired jar food? do you think the "expiration" date should instead say "best if used by" instead? leave your opinion as a blog comment, and let others know what you think!

offical posting on expiration dates (scroll about halfway down for the "baby food" listing.

The mystery "item" found in a Capri Sun Package

so a few days ago, i came upon a posting on facebook about a mystery item being found in a capri sun package.
the family purchased the package at BJs Wholsale club, and upon opening it they noticed one of the pouches was leaking, after emptying it and feeling something still inside, they split the pouch open and found this.

they contacted the correct authorities, and a sample was taken for testing.
while its pretty nasty looking, and update from kraft foods suggests that the item found in the package, was in fact a piece of mold, that grew due to a puncture in the pouch.

in my opinion, its pretty believable that this could actually be mold. i have young children, and they have "lost" sippy cups around the house and when we find them they are foul smelling and have there own mystery items floating on top. another source suggested it being an "eyeball", i think a this is a little over the top. i mean i can understand how bugs, or bandaids and other "loose" items can fall into machines by accident, but an eyeball?

do you believe this is actually mold? what does it look like to you? will you stop buying capri sun because of this? leave your opinions for others to view!the original pictures can be seen here, on the purchaseres facebook site.
